Slut stuff

Slut-box (is no more)

Slutbox became a bitch to handle as I grew little on spare time and the physical server was relocated to another part of the city. It was fun to run and everything (and I hope some people got something interesting out of it) but as I wasn't really keeping an eye on it or mantaining it or nothing, I decided it was best to kill it altogether. RIP.

Slutnet

I want something that has more interaction. So I'm putting together some virtual machines in an isolated LAN and run a wargame on it. Not having a physical servers really helps in mainainability (and it's pretty close to the real thing in all aspects that matter).

The idea of the game is, that all teams come up with services they want to see other teams running (and they have to run themselves) and then implement all those services while trying to exploit the ones running on other machines. If everyone is done, another round (or cycle) starts adding to the number of services everyone needs to run and secure, continuously increasing the chance that someone will make a mistake.

Please note that the physical machine hosting this stuff is located in Estonia (which is in Europe). Run a ping against p6drad-teel.net to get an idea what kind of latency you are going to have. Should be around 100ms for America, 200ms for Asia. Based on that you can decide if you want to even take part or maybe you can just have more of a consulting kind of role in the team with the europeans doing all the work (as always).

If I'm planning to run a game, you can register for it here.
