In order to try the slut-box out, you need to read the instructions.

Sun Jun 26 20:59:19 2005: Not coming up just yet!
It appears FreeBSD does not support the network interface on slutbox (ICL EtherTeam 16i). The only other card I have available to exchange it with is a RealTek RTL8139, that MIGHT work (but it's in THIS server, so I'd need to turn it off to change cards). Anyways, just keeping you posted. Things are still moving. |

Sun Jun 26 15:21:33 2005: Going DOWN!
We're having (a rather recent) FreeBSD for dinner. I have never used *BSD, so I'm likely to fuck it up in some way, but I'll try to create a couple of attack vectors for this one (If not right away, during the coming days, weeks). |

Wed Jun 8 11:32:22 2005: Still no rooting (not so sure any more)
I used to check the scanner logs every now and then, but haven't taken the time lately. No 'greetz' left behind, at least. Seems slackware 7.1 is pretty secure. I have seen quite a few pretty interesting attempts at it (brute force, some local vulnerability scanners after I left the sniffer logs laying around). But noting entirely successful Some people have DOS'd the slut-box though. I killed a bunch of CPU-hogging wu-ftpd proccesses today, should work better now. Anyhow, I figure it might be time for a new OS? Should I put a plain OS up or would you like a bit more of wargame-type-of-thing, where I'd leave some misconfiguration holes open as well? As always, I'm open for ideas. |

Sat May 21 12:31:45 2005: Noone has scored..
At least to my knowledge. There doesn't seem to be anything left behind eithr. Is it too hard? I made a silly change that should propably make it easier, but I'll remove it soon because as I said, it's just silly. |

Tue May 10 23:55:12 2005: Problems, problems
Apparently, slut-box was absolutely inaccessible from the outside. Luckily, Phuket sent me an email and i was able to fix the problem in like 15 seconds (at first I had no idea what could cause it and was preparing for a long bug-hunting session). A route was only defined for local network - no default gateway. Anyways, fixed. Many thanks to Phuket for bringing it to my attention. |

Mon May 9 17:18:01 2005: Slut-box is up
Running Slackware 7.1, should be roughly the same. Unless you find some new angle for this one. |

Mon May 9 13:11:53 2005: Slut-box is down for maitenance
I'm installing Slackware 7.1, so the slut-box is offline for a couple of hours. |
